NO PLACE LIKE BROOKLYN

If you don't know anything else about me you know that I am from Brooklyn, and I never miss an opportunity to let people know that "I'm from Brooklyn" (my fellow Brooklynites feel me!). I was born here. My parents fell in love here. My love affair with Brooklyn runs deep. There's a certain pride that radiates when you're from such an influential city, and honestly there is no place like Brooklyn. From the culture, the people, historical elements, you can always find something amazing to do.

Over the years Brooklyn has gone through some major changes - some for the better and if you ask some Brooklyn natives, others, arguably for the worst. One change I can get behind is with the recently remodeled New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, that I had the pleasure of staying at.

IN A NUTSHELL

The New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge is luxury hotel conveniently located in Downtown Brooklyn. Minutes away from the subway, shopping, nightlife, and all the sightseeing Brooklyn has to offer - from the historical DUMBO area, to the Brooklyn Bridge, the Brooklyn Promenade, and everything in-between.  The rooms are spacious - something you don't get too often in NYC. Some of the rooms even offer an amazing view of the Brooklyn Bridge (ask for a room with a view!). As mentioned, the hotel has recently underwent renovations that were actually inspired by the borough of Brooklyn itself. Guest rooms and all public and meeting spaces, including the new M Club Lounge underwent these renovations.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

This was my first time staying at The New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge since the renovations and I immediately noticed how much more modern and spacious it was. Parking and check-in was seamless and the staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby had plenty of seating and The Greatroom is the perfect place to lounge and recharge after a day of sightseeing. I also noticed the amazing fireplace decorated with Brooklyn-centric books above. This was beginning to feel like the perfect staycation.

THE ROOM

We stayed in the double guestroom with the skyline view. The interior was modern and Brooklyn inspired. There's a huge mural of the Brooklyn Bridge above the bed that makes for the perfect photo opp. The mattress and bedding were soft and plush and there were plenty of outlets....major key! As mentioned previously, the rooms were recently renovated and the rooms are super spacious. And can we talk about the view...spetacular. I can wake up to this everyday!

DINNING

One thing in-particular that I love about The New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge is the fact that the hotel is inspired by the cultural diversity of Brooklyn. The hotel partners with local vendors to offer their guests an authentic Brooklyn experience. Some of the vocal Brooklyn vendors include the Brooklyn Winery, Brooklyn Brewery and the Red Hook Winery located at The Bar and the Brooklyn Roasting Company available at The Brooklyn Pantry

THE VERDICT

I've witnessed Brooklyn undergo so many changes over the years. Change is good but when those changes remove cultural elements and displace residences at alarming rates it's frustrating and disheartening. Thankfully The New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge knows how to make change in a positive way by using their backdrop as inspiration. It's the perfect place to get an authentic Brooklyn experience during your stay in Brooklyn. It's modern, trendy, spacious, and conveniently located to make your trip unforgettable.
